Actor: Pablo Pineda
Pablo Pineda is the first person with Down syndrome who graduated in Europe. Moreover, he gained two degrees simultaneously. He didn’t get any extra help at the university – he took notes and took exams just like his teammates. He became famous when he played a boy with Down Syndrome in in Yo tambien, who, due to his above-average intelligence, differs from his mates with down syndrome, but he can’t fit in his college class also. Although the film is not about him, the feeling is not unfamiliar to him. “People treat us as if we were sick,” he writes in his book, which is about his life and his learning difficulties.
